The warm 92 degree temperature is beneficial in increasing flexibility and range of motion by reducing pain or abnormal muscle tone. The buoyancy of water enables people to perform exercises, which would be difficult without the support of water.

The therapy itself consists of purposeful therapeutic exercise in the water using a variety of positions for:

  • Early post-operative rehab initiation
  • Reduced joint compression and weight bearing
  • Buoyancy reduced gravity allows early progressive weight bearing and weakened muscles use
  • Reduced scar formation (early mobility)
  • True isokinetic resistance
